v1.3.0: Watermarking for Generator Products, Watermarking for Video

The standalone watermark product for C2PA generator products, and PawPrint video watermarking, ship in v1.3.0.

The Trufo Team · September 8, 2026

In v1.2.0 last month, we introduced watermark functionality into our C2PA signing product, where full soft-binding support can be added with a single input parameter. In v1.3.0, we are rounding out the watermark product with two new major features:

#Add Invisible Watermarks to your Generator Product

The watermark SDK and API are now available for those operating their own C2PA Generator Product. There is a base cost of $60/mo and the per-unit cost varies roughly from $0.005 to $0.05 depending on the volume.

There is a new standalone watermark product that you can purchase at app.trufo.ai. Both local-processing and Trufo-processing options are available via API or via SDK. In order to watermark locally, you will need the sdk-download API key to download the SDK (make sure you download the version with the local provenance and watermarking engines) and the watermark-prod API key to start watermarking. Please see trufo-py for implementation details.

Please note that any use of the watermarking engine and Trufo’s watermarking technology must be done within the Trufo watermark ID ecosystem.

The watermark-test API key remains available for testing purposes.

#Video Watermarking that is both Invisible and Durable

The PawPrint suite now includes video watermarking in addition to image and audio watermarking. As with the other modalities, PawPrint is comfortably top-of-market across all performance metrics.

For example, PawPrint is the only video watermark that survives screenshots in a meaningful manner.

For example, in a video editing pipeline, the bottleneck for encode or decode speed is ffmpeg and not PawPrint.

For a more detailed comparison, see the official evaluation report.

Note that when using the SDK, all video streams are automatically watermarked. This includes both video and audio streams.
